“Humpies” as they’re affably called, live for two years at sea before returning to spawn the next generation. This is why pink runs in the PNW only occur every other year; there are no one-year-old or three-year-old fish to establish runs in the other years.
These spawning males were originally printed on Unryu (rice fibre) using Sumi ink and watercolor. The print itself is museum grade cotton fibre with archival inks. Hand signed and stamped, no two alike.
